A FEELed Farewell (to Dani and the year)

WHAT: Join us for one last hurray this year as we celebrate a summer farewell – and a farewell to our FEELed Lab administrator Dani Pierson.

Activities on the docket:

A Potluck – sharing food has always been a big part of the FEELed Lab. Whether it is because one of us has too many leftovers or a weird Canadian food that has to be shared with our visiting researchers, sharing food has been a significance source of community building for the Lab. Please bring a tasty treat to share to continue this tradition!

A Clothes Swap – Over the past three years of the FEELed Lab, Dani and Astrida have bonded over each other’s funky ‘fits. We thought it was fitting to feature fashion at Dani’s going away party while giving her the opportunity to declutter before moving. Bring some clothes, jewelry, accessories that could use a new home and come rifle through our make-shift FEELed Thrift!

A CRAFT-A-STROPHE Station – The FEELed Lab now has our own button maker! To celebrate, we will have a station to make micro-poem buttons around the theme of visiting. What does it mean to be an uninvited visitor to Syilx Lands? What does it mean to engage in visiting with each other and the Land?

We will also have some sick tunes and (weather permitting) a fire to gather around. And you never know what surprises can transpire around the campfire. Bring a poem, a song, a musical instrument, a stand-up comedy skit, or anything else you might be inspired to share. No obligation, but the opportunity may present itself. We hope to see you there – whether you are an old or new FEELed Friend!
