What stories do you have to tell about access and inclusion at the FEELed Lab?
You’re Invited!
WHEN: 2-5 pm Wednesday 2 April, 2025
WHERE: The FEELed Lab, 969 Raymer Rd.
*If you didn’t pre-register, you are still welcome to join us! Please just drop us at line at feeledlab[at]gmail.com so we know to expect you!

The FEELed Lab, located at the Woodhaven Eco-Culture Centre, is in many ways a magical place—situated among the ponderosa pines and douglas firs, alongside Bellevue Creek, and regularly visited by deer, raccoons, bears, and owls.
But experiences and feelings of accessibility, inclusion, welcome, and belonging aren’t the same for all of us. Maybe you’ve wanted to attend events, but couldn’t get here. Maybe the uneven terrain and stairs are tricky for you, or maybe outdoor activities feel sketchy. Or maybe you love that you are always offered tea and snacks, or that the gatherings are open to non-university members too! Maybe you remember a strong sense of belonging as your hand brushed the oregon grape bushes as you walked down the path. Maybe your feelings are complicated, or ambivalent.
We are inviting you to participate in a storytelling workshop, because you are a friend of the Lab – we’ve either met you at our events, or you have expressed interest in what we do.
At this workshop, we will collaboratively edit our (very) short stories about access and inclusion at the FEELed Lab, to be gathered in a small chapbook. This chapbook is our version of an “access and inclusion glossary”: it will be organized by keywords, but instead of definitions, we will offer our stories: small moments or feelings that help us think about access as an ongoing process that we undertake together. This chapbook will be freely available to anyone interested.
The workshop will happen at the FEELed Lab on Wednesday April 2nd, from 2-5pm. Please email us if you would like to attend!
To attend, all you have to do is email us to let us know you are coming (and potentially arrange car-pooling!, and bring with you a rough draft of a (very) short story – text-based, graphic-based, or a combination of both! It should be no more than about 300 words (if text), or one page (if graphic). Your draft can be very loose and provisional! We don’t want polished stories, but some feelings and experiences of access and inclusion at the FEELed Lab, gathered on the page, to think and work through together.
We are particularly interested in stories that focus on small moments, or specific events. If you would like some prompts and ideas for your story, please check out this link!
We will help arrange transportation, if you don’t have an easy way to get to the FEELed Lab. Snacks and beverages provided, too!
