Articulating our FEELed Lab Values

  • Paper that has "FEELed Lab Practices" as a heading written in pink, beneath a list of bullet points saying - we do what we can with what we have, - we build relationships, - we try to embody consistency & slowness, - we watch for unexpected unfurlings, -we strive to create access, -we want conviviality, -we want you to come as you are (unless you can't which is also ok :) ), -we deliberately include diff perspectives namely feminist, antiracist, anticolonial, queer & disability - justice
  • Collage of two drawings, one shows the FEELed Lab and mission creek with an arrow saying "The FEELed Lab now...", the other one shows the Okanagan lake, a bus to the FEELed Lab and a thought bubble saying "Land Back!", it has an arrow pointing to it that says "The FEELed Lab in 3 years?"
  • Blue collage showing a drawing of a forest, a house, a persons head and writing saying LAND BACK!

With a full student cohort this year at the FEELed Lab, we are embarking on the process of articulating our lab values. Taking inspiration from other feminist labs, such as the CLEAR and Feminist Media Studies Lab, we are looking for ways that our general principles of being a feminist, anticolonial, antiracist, queer and disability-justice lab will be reflected in the specific protocols and ways of being with each other.

Over the course of the year, we will be hosting a series of mini-workshops using different methods to explore this. Read about the start of our journey and our first mini-workshop using the rich pictures method in this FEELed Note. In our second workshop, we used a storytelling method to dive deeper into what we actually mean with those values, check it out here.
