FEELing Solidarity

The FEELed Lab reaffirms our support of the People’s University at UBCO and joins faculty, staff and organizations across Canada who have expressed their support, solidarity, and admiration for students’ calls to boycot, divest and impose sanctions against institutions and corporations supporting the ongoing genocide in Gaza. We reaffirm the students’ right to peaceful assembly and expression, as affirmed in the UBCO Senate Resolution of April 25, 2024.

We also support and endorse the Statement on Canadian Universities and Palestine authored by Palestinian-Canadian Academics and Artists Network (PCAAN), Faculty for Palestine Canada, and Jewish Faculty Network, that highlights Israel’s policy of scholasticide in Gaza. There are no universities left in Gaza.

The FEELed Lab recognizes the intimate connection between scholasticide and ecocide, and colonialism’s attempted destruction of the possibility for Land-based learning as a basis for survival, through the killing of water, trees, non-human beings and Land, as part of the ongoing genocide. As a feminist lab, we call for recognition and action that acknowledges how all oppressions—colonialism, white supremacy, cisheteropatriarchy, ablism, human exceptionalism, and others—must stand or fall together.
