Nature Reading Writing

A book, open to one of its poems, sits in a dirt hole. A hand places a rock on top of it, to join two other rocks already resting on it.

When: Friday 14 April, 2022 4-6 pm

Where: Woodhaven EcoCulture Centre

WHAT: A generative poetry workshop

Come visit Woodhaven, located on syilx territory, to uncover a book that the Earth checked out a from the FEELed Library (Norah Bowman’s Breath, Like Water) which was quietly read over five months. We will find out how nature reads and rewrites itself through discussion, the unearthing of Breath, Like Water and you will have the opportunity to try some earth reading experiments of your own. All supplies will be provided.

BRING: Appropriate clothes for spending time outside! Please wear good footwear as your earth reading experiments may take you to towards creek banks, trees, thickets, water, and mud.

We will provide tea and snacks so please also BYOM (Bring Your Own Mug).

This gathering will be convened by Natalie Rice.

All FEELed Lab events strive to be feminist, anticolonial, antiracist, queer and accessible spaces.
