Lab-warming Breakfast Party!

We are excited to launch our second year of operations from FEELed Lab HQ, at beautiful Woodhaven on unceded syilx territory. Learning more about this place and our responsibility to care for it will continue to inform everything that we do here.

FL-HQ now has desk space available for researchers associated with the lab, a small library and reading nook, kitchen and meeting space, and of course the beautiful forest, creek, rocks, and other beings that comprise life here.

We are trying to build a place that is a good fit with our research ethos – just about everything in the lab is upcycled, donated, reused, or repurposed. But unfortunately the lab is not yet fully accessible to bodies that don’t do stairs. This is a priority task for us to address urgently. In the meantime, most of our research events will continue to take place outside/downstairs.

*We warmly welcome “lab-warming” gifts in the form of house-plant cuttings that we promise to care for and love dearly as they help oxygenate our space!

The cover of the yellow "Fringe Natures" zine is slightly open, revealing illegible text within.

Participate in the DIY Methods Twitter Conference!

Last June, an assortment of FEELed Labbers put together a zine that reflected on our FL gatherings-as-research-method from last year. Our zine joins 30+ other zines from many different locations produced for the 2022 DIY Methods Conference. This mostly-screen-free, remote event organized by the Low Carbon Research Methods Group  culminates in a Twitter Conference on September 19th – and you can join in too!

The zines will be on display at the lab, and we invite you to peruse, be inspired, and share your thoughts if you choose using our FEELed Lab Twitter account (a laptop station will be available for these purposes). From salvaging to playing to composting to remixing, these zines have low carbon methods ideas  for everyone!

If you can’t make it but would like to learn more about the Lab, head on over to http://www.thefeeledlab.ca or get in touch and we will set up another time to visit.
