Are you an actual or aspiring early riser? The FEELed Lab invites you to gather for a gentle walk to contemplate the waking edge, as our bodies trace the riparian fringe of Mission Creek together.
WHEN: Friday 28 January 2022, 7-8 am
WHERE: The EECO Centre (Environmental Education Centre for the Okanagan) (2363A Springfield Rd) Meet outside the main building of the Eco Centre. Ample free parking, a public washroom, and bike racks for the intrepid all available! If you are taking public transportation, the 11 bus (Rutland) stops outside of the centre.
WHAT TO BRING/WHAT TO EXPECT: Please come prepared with weather-appropriate footwear, outerwear, etc. for a short walk (approx. 2 kilometers, upriver and back). Along the way, The FEELed Lab will host a playful and serious game of ecological Balderdash, inviting you to remember, imagine, and notice your way into this and other awakening places. We will have a thermos of hot tea on offer (bring your own mug!) as well as some morning snacks. (We will follow COVID safe protocols, maintaining our distance.)
No registration required.
All welcome! The path is flat and wide, and is suitable for bodies for whom hiking can be challenging. It might be slippery, however, so you may choose to bring walking sticks or icers. You know your body best!
If you are unable to join us, but would like to participate remotely in our game of ecological Balderdash, get in touch with us at email@example.com. We will send you a version to try out in the presence of your own waking edge!
Fringe Natures is an occasional outdoor event series hosted by the FEELed Lab. These events invite deep curiosity about who, and where, we are, and what the heck we are doing here. All FEELed Lab events strive to be feminist, anticolonial, queer, and accessible spaces!
