Plant People Gathering

six zines next to each other on a table, one of them says "REMEMBER" another "I feel silly when" and "Another body is possible"

Zine Edition!

WHEN: Monday, Oct 26, 4:00 – 8:00 pm

WHERE: Woodhaven Ecoculture Centre (see here for directions)

WHAT: We’ll put together A Beginner’s Guide to Native Plants zine, designed by our community member, Neela! Since election season is upon us, with the Municipal Elections on October 17th and a Provincial Election on October 24th, we are writing letters to the respective winners, with copies of the zines included, to ensure that plant activism and advocacy are at the forefront of their minds as they begin their political terms. We will then do our usual community meal, connect with new and old community members, and discuss continued and future work. RSVP through this Google Form!

If you do or want to get involved in stewardship and land healing work, Plant People Gatherings are the place for you! We invite experts, community members, and knowledge keepers when they are available to build connections, think about how we can care for the land around us, bring ourselves into good relationships to this place and support syilx-led stewardship initiatives as best we can. We typically gather once a month (ish) to build relationships and learn about stewardship work that is happening in the Okanagan
